I have been using Penguins now for a couple of years and I love them! I, too, own three of them. No fiddling with controls, yet produces great vapor. Really large tank - fill and go and you're good for a long time. These units are getting harder to find - please don't discontinue them! Lol - it's all I will ever use so long as they keep making them.
Tried a lot of different vapes priced from about 150 down to about 25 dollars. In this general price range (30-50 dollars), vapes almost have one (usually multiple) flaws that make it worth your while to spend the extra money to get a higher-end vape model. The Atopack Penguin is an exception; I now use it preferentially even when my budget allows for a more expensive device. Coil life is good (see an important caveat following to extend coil life, however), the core device life is exceptional, it delivers good vapor quantity (equivalent to much more expensive vapes I have had), allows easy monitoring of both vape juice and charge levels, and has a very ergonomic design for a very comfortable hand fit. Both battery life and juice capacity are convenient for on the go vape enthusiasts, and recharge rates for the battery are relatively quick as well. There is the previously mentioned caveat about extending coil life, however. Even used without doing so, coil life for this model is competitive for devices in its range; however, periodic re-soaking of these coils often radically increases their lifetime of use, and by experimentation in the matter, I have discovered it is often the case that even a seemingly burnt coil can be rescued and continue to perform well for days (in a few cases, even weeks!) after seeming to be fried. After each recharging, allow the core battery case to cool while resoaking the coil, and coil life is dramatically increased. Regardless of usage levels, resoak at least once per day in addition to charge resoaking. As far as coil quality, if bought from joyetech, out of a box of five, on average with constant heavy vape use: 1 or two will be duds lasting only 1-3 days no matter what you do, 2-4 will last for 1-3 weeks each with proper treatment, and 1 will be a super-performer that sticks it out for 6+ weeks. (Again, these figures are for very heavy use and could be dramatically longer for lighter use) This seems to be consistent from box to box, and as such makes 20 dollars for a box of coils extremely cost effective. Beware of knock-offs with identical packaging both online and from many brick-and-mortar vape stores; these have s**t endurance, and resoaking rarely helps. I recommend buying direct from the manufacturer for this reason, even if this means a little extra shipping cost; you still come out ahead.
One final note: impact resistance. Here this model often out-performs many much higher priced vapes. If your use is such that you need a specifically impact resistant vape, you will probably have to research a much more expensive model designed for just that, as vapes of all price categories normally do not handle frequent impacts well. With regards to occasional impacts from dropping 2-4 feet onto pavement-like surfaces, this model again performs very competitively well against models of much higher price in many cases. The core battery pack has yet to break on me due to such impacts, and the coil-holding juice compartment only very rarely (once to my own experience) breaks from this; these are fairly cheap to replace relative to the cost of the unit as a whole. It is worth noting that hard impacts can adversely affect the life of the coils, however.
Enjoy your penguin! Unless you have a specialized need this model cannot address, this is probably the only model vape even a heavy vape user may need (the previous coil lifes mentioned may be up to 2-4 times longer, if not more, for lighter vape-use).
These penguin;s are great. So easy to use and MAINTAIN. I actually own 3 of them and if anything ever happens to one of them or if I loose one <hopefully not> I will instantly buy another one. I've been using this product for over a year now. I absolutely love the Penguin and would highly recommend it. Happy Vaping!
